SERVER PATCH 1.6¶
March 3rd, 2026¶
This patch introduces new house types, the launch of the daily rare system, dueling pits in Dawn, and new horse breeds to discover and trade. Along with that, bug fixes and system tweaks continue based on feedback and observations.
🛠️ Bug Fixes & Adjustments¶
- Your spirit speak skill now effects your summon casting chance on 8th circle spells. At GM spirit speak, and spirit speak is enabled, you have a 80% chance to be successful
- Fertile dirt is now required for all plants. The drop rate for fertile dirt has been increased a bunch
- Fixed single-click label on seeds
- Fixed fire breath calc on the Gargoyle Warlord in the Codex Rift
- Added worn labels to pick axes
- Fixed the tailoring dye kit to correctly accept the amount in the stack
- If you're at the house limit, you can now still see the "ghost" version of the house using the tool
- Big fish now display the time in local server time (central US)
- Fixed an issue with Barracoon
- Made several adjustments to the chances when digging up artifacts, also expanded clues to cover other ruined towns
- Adjusted how recall works on runebooks. You still don't have a magery requirement when using charges, but you still go through the casting motion
- Fixed LOS issue accessing chests and runebooks through walls
- Player vendor cost per real world day has been reduced
- All new achievements for crafters, tmaps, MIBs, Rift Masters, and a few others things (from 839 to over 2600 achievements now available)
- The 650 point tailoring BOD reward slot has been populated with unique and random tailoring deco (6 unique items)
Dev Note
The initial plan pre-launch was to have power scrolls for tailoring, and when you'd hit 120, you could craft hoods. Before launch, I worried the market would be flooded with hoods, so I removed them with the intention of going back to fill the gap, which I didn't do until now. Apologies to those who turned in a 650 and reported getting nothing, you'll be able to get something.
- When an IDOC is announced, the house sign will also reflect if that house is IDOC.
Dev Note
Just a reminder, when a house is announced as IDOC, it's about a 2 hour window before it falls. Not your traditional 14 hour window.
🏠 Housing¶
A few of the custom house prices (ie: the Mansion) have been adjusted to be more in alignment with their size and features.
In addition, the following houses are now available:
- Three Story Villa (east facing)
- Yew Crypt Small Tower
- Two Story Wooden (east facing)
- Two Story Stone Vendor
- Wood Framed Stone Manor with Front Yard
Dev Note
This is a new style house, with a large open front yard that that lets you lock things down. The other side of the yard (west side) allows you to recall/gate. This is a new style of house, so if you have any feedback, please let me know.
Orcs can place the following:
- Two Orc Camps (one east facing)
Dev Note
The smaller Orc houses need a bit more testing and will be in a future patch
📅 "Daily" Rares¶
The daily rare system has been activated, with rares now found in all new locations from those found in beta.
- What are daily rares? They're deco items that spawn randomly throughout the world for players to find, collect, sell, and/or display.
- What does "activated" mean? Each rare item spawns between a range of days. For some, it might be 3-5 days, for others could be 20-25 days. They aren't on a static interval.
- Where are the rares? With the system active, it will start spawning rares into the world when those timers are triggered. In other words, the world isn't full of all the rare items that can be found post-patch, they will spawn over time.
⚔️ Dawn Dueling Pits¶
The Dawn City Council has posted the following message:
Dawn, long a haven of festivals and fellowship, has seen its old Dueling Pits restored to their former glory. By order of the City Council, consensual combat between willing challengers is now permitted within their hallowed grounds. Seek out a worthy opponent and prove your worth!
Four Pits stand ready to host your battles. Simply queue for an open Pit, and when a worthy challenger answers your call, combat begins, a free-for-all duel to the death.
Fear not your losses, however, for the Pits are bound by restoration magic: when the bout concludes, both combatants are returned unharmed to the grounds outside, their bodies made whole, their reagents left untouched.
Your victories and defeats will be etched into the records of the Portal, visible to all. Issued by the Dawn City Council
Dev Note
The dueling system is very basic at the moment, and will be expanded on in future patches to include queues for custom rulesets and other features. I wanted to get at least a basic system up and running for players to use while those enhancements could happen.
🐴 Rangers' Guild Announcement¶
In response to the horrifying news of mass slaughter of horses, the following has been shared throughout the land:
Hear ye, hear ye! By decree of the Realm's most learned scholars and beastmasters, it has been determined that the Noble Horse, that most magnificent and elusive of creatures, has grown wary of the blood-soaked cobblestones of our towns and cities. Spooked by the senseless carnage visited upon their kin, the Noble Horses have retreated deep into the wilderness, nevermore to be found within the walls of civilization.
However, take heart, brave adventurers, for word has spread that the slain horses did not die entirely in vain. Their sacrifice has drawn the attention of stablekeepers and wandering herds from across the land. Travelers and scouts have returned with reports of new breeds never before seen in these lands, each more wondrous than the last. And whispered among them are rumors of something rarer still, that within each of these breeds, there are said to be a version of that breed of such extraordinary magnificence that seasoned beastmasters have gone their entire lives without laying eyes upon one.
Seek your fortune in the fields, the forests, and the open roads, for it is there, away from the cruelty of townships, that glory on horseback awaits those patient and worthy enough to look. Issued by the Rangers' Guild
