Battle Bombin'¶
Battle Bombin' is a free-for-all arena game for 2 to 8 players. Everyone starts in a corner of a walled maze with a bag of bombs. Blast your way through the breakable walls, pick up the upgrades they leave behind, and catch your rivals in the blast. The last player standing wins.
Nobody gets hurt in the arena. A blast doesn't do damage: it knocks you out of the game and sends you back to the stone to watch.
Starting a game¶
Look for the Battle Bombin' stone, a gravestone standing beside the arena. Single-click it to see whether a game is open, how many players it is waiting for, and what it costs to play. Double-click it from within 10 tiles to play.
- The first player reads the rules, picks how many players the game needs (2 to 8), and signs up. They are now in charge of the game and get a settings window
- Everyone else double-clicks the stone while it's looking for players and signs up. Whoever signs up first gets the last place
- The game starts once it has all its players and the leader presses Ready
While you wait, a window shows that you're signed up. Press Cancel in it to leave.
The leader's settings¶
The player in charge chooses:
| Setting | Choices |
|---|---|
| Players | 2 to 8, but never fewer than have already signed up |
| Board style | Default, Rocky, Woodland, Warehouse, Ruins, Graveyard or Crystal |
| Width and height | 11 to 31 tiles. An even number is rounded up to the next odd one |
If the leader leaves, the next player in line takes charge. Sometimes staff set a game up themselves, and then there are no settings to choose.
Before it starts¶
- You can't bring pets or summons. Stable or release your followers first
- Stay within 10 tiles of the stone. Anyone too far away, or who can no longer pay, is dropped when the game is about to start, and it waits for someone to take their place
- If the game costs gold, it is taken when the game starts, from your backpack or your bank
- If you start a game and don't answer the offer within 2 minutes, it expires and you have to wait a minute before starting another
- A game that goes 5 minutes without anyone new signing up is cancelled
Playing¶
When the game starts, everyone is moved to their own starting spot around the edge of the arena and given a Bomb Bag.
- Double-click the Bomb Bag to plant a bomb at your feet. You can't plant two bombs on the same tile
- A bomb goes off 3 seconds after it's planted
- The blast shoots out in four directions: north, south, east and west. At the start it reaches 1 tile
- You start with 2 bombs on the field at a time. You get each one back when it goes off
- The blast stops at the first wall it reaches. A breakable wall is destroyed, a solid wall isn't
- A blast that reaches another bomb sets it off. Chain reactions are credited to whoever planted the first bomb
- Anyone caught in a blast is out, including you
Spells and skills don't work in the arena, and guards won't come.
Upgrades¶
A destroyed breakable wall sometimes leaves an upgrade behind. Walk over it to pick it up. An upgrade disappears after 20 seconds. A blast destroys it too, and stops there.
| Upgrade | Effect | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Bomb Count | One more bomb on the field at a time | Common |
| Blast Strength | Your blasts reach one tile further | Common |
| Speed | You run at mounted speed for the rest of the game | Uncommon |
| Detonator | Puts a Detonator in your backpack. Your new bombs have no fuse; double-click the Detonator to set off your oldest bomb | Rare |
| Big BaddaBoom | Your new bombs' blasts tear straight through breakable walls instead of stopping at them | Rare |
Bomb Count and Blast Strength stack. Upgrades only last until the game ends.
Winning¶
- The last player standing wins
- If the last players are all knocked out within a second of each other, the game is a draw
- A game that is still going after 10 minutes is called a draw
- Disconnecting knocks you out, the same as being blown up
After the game, everyone is sent back to the stone, and the bags and upgrades disappear.
Leaderboards¶
Battle Bombin' is just for fun: there are no prizes. Every game you play adds to your score, your record and your achievements.
| Event | Score |
|---|---|
| Blowing up another player | +1 |
| Being blown up by someone else | −1 |
| Blowing yourself up | −2 |
| Disconnecting | −1 |
| Winning the game | +2 |
Your score never drops below 0. A game only counts when every player is a different person, so games that include your own alts don't count.
To see the leaderboard, right-click the stone and choose View events, or type [BombermanRankings. Single-clicking the stone also shows this month's leader. The leaderboard has three tabs:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| This Month | The top 10 of the current season |
| All Time | The top 10 since the leaderboard began |
| Past Seasons | The top three of each of the last 12 seasons |
The boards are ranked by score, then by wins. Players who are tied share a place. Each board also shows wins, games played and opponents blown up. You're highlighted in gold, and your own place is shown at the bottom even if you're outside the top 10.
Monthly seasons¶
A season runs for a calendar month and ends at midnight on the 1st, Central time. The monthly board then starts again from zero. Your all-time record is never reset.
The top three players of the month go into Past Seasons and earn the Podium Finish achievement. First place also earns Monthly Champion. To place, you need to have played at least 3 games that month, and only one character per person can place.
Achievements¶
Battle Bombin' has its own achievement category:

| Last One Standing | Win 1 up to 250 games | Demolitionist |

The title comes with the last tier of each achievement. One more achievement is hidden.
